The idea to create this strain came naturally. We at Kannabia Seed Company have always been fans of British Cheese, a very special legend that had almost disappeared from the scene and of which we had a very impressive original clone from the 90s. We worked to address the weaknesses that prevented her from becoming a successful superstar, namely her productivity and the time she needed. And we didn't stop until we had done it. It's like the original Cheese, but more stable and balanced, it has a stronger taste and you like it straight away. You definitely have to try them!
We crossed her with an Afghan Mazar-i-Sharif, which gives her that confidence, because to kiss someone you have to be confident. We have had very good experience combining the properties of very reliable Afghan seeds with other well-known strains and the Kiss cannabis seed is an excellent example of this. It is a 70% indica dominant seed with a fairly high THC content (21.5%), so you will fall in love with the first kiss.
Cultivation of the Kiss
The original Cheese from the '90s was known for its cheesy taste (the Brits obviously liked that), but also for the fact that it took a lot of work to get something decent. By crossing the Afghan Kiss, which in turn was backcrossed with the Cheese to improve the milky taste, we have bred a contemporary cannabis plant that delivers exactly the yields that breeders want today.
It adapts easily both indoors and outdoors and also delivers a very convincing yield. Its spiny habit with a large, strong central column and short internodes makes it perfect for growing in Sea of Green, even with hydroponic systems. It grows with powerful buds full of resin (you can think of extractions) and in the flowering phase takes on a wonderful golden color that, together with its aroma, makes you think of the best cheddar cheese in the world. After a flowering period of 55 to 60 days, you will be able to harvest 450 grams per square meter.
These virtues come into their own outdoors. It grows into a cypress-shaped, two meter high shrub that can produce up to 800 grams of cheese per plant. As a good skunk, it can also tolerate wind and tide, fungi and pests, but you shouldn't overdo it with the nutrients. Also remember that it will be ready to harvest at the end of September. These are all advantages!
Taste and effect of the Kiss
Of course Kiss tastes like cheese, right? If you've ever had the opportunity to taste the British Cheese from which this variety comes, you'll remember it fondly. The earthy note gives it that typical taste of an old cheese that is reserved for important occasions. And the Skunk content gives it the unmistakable and pleasant Afghan taste.
The effect of the plant is predominantly indica and is not exactly weak. This is clearly a relaxing, very physical seed, perfect for relaxing on the sofa. If you try out Cheese and Kiss with your friends, it can lead to some very interesting discussions.
