The research and development team at Paradise Seeds had been looking for an indica hybrid with unique qualities, and Californian Gold is exactly that! We took a trip down memory lane with this strain as we released it to celebrate legalization in the Golden State, selecting classic, old-school California genetics that we turbocharged, resulting in something very special.

Lineage

This strain is the result of combining various heritage genetics from the Paradise Seeds archive. Californian Gold cannabis seeds carry genes from a female Afghani and a male developed through the company's own Paradise breeding program, containing elements of an original US Skunk and a South Asian Indica. The result is a heavyweight Indica whose weight can be worth its weight in gold.

Smell and taste

The smell is dominated by a tropical note - with a sweet, citrusy spice, whose mouth-watering lemon and mango notes - reflecting its terpene profile, which is rich in limonene and myrcene. This makes them a treat for every true connoisseur, whose sweet taste will keep you coming back to them again and again.

Difficulty level: Medium

Indoors : Californian Gold also lives up to its name when it comes to growing, it is an uncomplicated choice for any indoor setup. It's just a joy to grow, a bushy sturdy plant with strong branches and large leaves. This plant also pulls out all the stops when it comes to yield, smell and taste. Her medium size makes her a good grow room companion for indoor growers, especially where height can be an issue. Her quick flowering time and reliable yields are two other qualities that make this strain recommended. It produces characteristically large, compact buds from which the resin literally flows out.

Outdoors: Californian Gold thrives naturally in the garden. Best in warm climates, where the sun makes those characteristically large buds really swell. But thanks to its hybrid nature, this plant can also adapt well to the cooler climate of more northern regions.

Yield and appearance

This plant has a growth habit typical of Indica - thick and bushy. Their ripening time is relatively quick. The exceptional nature of the chunky Californian Gold buds is due to the genetic makeup of this strain and the fact that it incorporates the legendary hashmaking qualities of the Indian subcontinent. As the flowering phase comes to an end, it often looks as if honey is flowing out of the resin-dripping buds.
