Strawberry Cough: a favorite of Kyle Kushman
Strawberry Cough was made famous by Kyle Kushman, arguably one of the world's most popular growers. Kushman received his first cutting of “The Cough” as a gift from an unknown grower who created the variety in Connecticut to help him improve his garden. When Kyle took a closer look at the tiny clone in his Brooklyn home, he was immediately overwhelmed by the intense berry aroma it gave off. When he moved from New York to California in 2004, he took a tray of Strawberry Cough clones in the trunk of his rented Buick and distributed them to growers in every state he drove through. The rest is history.
Strawberry Cough cannabis seeds: Strawberry Fields and Haze, forever
Strawberry Cough is descended from the almighty Haze and the lesser known (but no less impressive) Strawberry Fields. Strawberry Fields, bred in New York, was grown in strawberry plantations to disguise its intense aroma. According to cannabis folklore, the plants somehow began to take on the aroma of their companion plants. While we can neither confirm nor deny this claim, we agree with Kyle Kushman: "It's certainly not the craziest idea [we've] ever heard!" By combining indica genetics from Strawberry Fields with the sativa-dominant properties of Haze, our Strawberry Cough features intense flavors, 75% sativa genetics and an uplifting effect.
