Varieties White Widow: A legend known worldwide
Although the exact origin of the strain is shrouded in mystery, we can guarantee that the original White Widow is a Dutch classic and was first grown in the Netherlands.
Legend has it that the original White Widow strain was created when a sativa landrace from Brazil was pollinated by an indica from Kerala, southern India, the result of years of selection and breeding in the mountains to produce resin-rich cannabis plants.
Since its original release back in the 90s, White Widow seeds have been distributed around the world, resulting in countless variations of the original strain. Now most reputable seed banks have a version of WW, and RQS is no exception.
At Royal Queen Seeds, our experienced breeders have created our own version of this classic using White Widow S1 genetics. Our strain offers a perfect genetic balance of 50% indica and 50% sativa. So it's right in the middle of the spectrum, offering the best of both worlds.
White Widow seeds offer good yield and easy cultivation
In the grow room, our feminized White Widow seeds grow into plants of around 1m, whereas outdoors they reach up to 2m. She needs a lot Light, but can be grown in colder climates such as France, Great Britain and the Netherlands. When grown indoors, she can yield 450-500g/m² under a 600W lamp. Outdoor growers can harvest between 550-600g/plant. Although this cultivar performs better in warmer climates, it still produces excellent results in northern European climates.
White Widow plants bloom for 8-10 weeks requiring little care. It is the perfect plant for beginner growers. Such properties also make this plant a good choice for SOG and ScrOG operations.
She will produce a large central cola if not trained. Although she becomes pretty and impressive, with a little training you will get better results. Prune each plant during the early vegetative stage and use the LST method and defoliation to produce an abundance of buds and an open and well-aerated canopy.
